Scott Schedule Workshop 2026 (29 July 2026)

Can Scott Schedules Prevent Disputes, Not Just Resolve Them?

On 29 July 2026, about 15 participants joined APIEx’s Scott Schedule Workshop, generously hosted and venue-sponsored by Pinsent Masons MPillay LLP at Frasers Tower, Singapore. Facilitated by Darren Benger, Chan Yong Neng and Prof Leslie Chew PBM, PPA(P), Senior Counsel, the workshop explored a less conventional proposition: extending Scott Schedules beyond their usual expert context into contract administration.

Working through defects, extensions of time and valuation, participants explored how contract-administrator Scott Schedules can provide a basis for dispute-avoidance discussions between Contractors and Employers, while creating a synoptic record of the nexus of technical matters—potentially valuable documentary evidence in subsequent dispute resolution. The workshop also considered expert Scott Schedules as a compelling basis for dispute-avoidance discussions, providing a synoptic presentation of the nexus of specialised technical opinion typically appreciated by arbitrators and judges. APIEx does not suggest a universal model. Rather, the workshop tested one structured approach across contract administration, adjudication and arbitration.

The underlying insight: clarity about issues, positions and reasoning can reveal where agreement ends and disagreement begins—helping resolve disputes and, importantly, avoid them.
